4 Channel 5V Relay Module – Optoisolated

This is a 4 Channel 5V relay module, with optoisolation. It consists 4 different relays. The module takes 5V as input, and has input for triggering each relay. There are 3 connections for each relay, NO, NC and C. The Normally Connected (NC) and Common (C) are connected by default, whereas Common (C) and Normally Open (NO) gets connected when relay is turned ON.

This 4 Channel 5V Relay Module has low trigger inputs. So, the relay turns ON when the input signal is low, and turns OFF when signal is high. The module has a pin short jumper between JD-VCC and VCC. If the jumper is present between JD-VCC and VCC, than the opto-isolation does not work. As the power supply to operate Relay, and the opto-isolation circuit is same.

To use the opto-isolation, the user needs to remove the jumper, the JD-VCC needs to be supplied with a different 5V input to operate the relays than the VCC, which also needs to be supplied 5V differently, which will be used to operate the optocouplers.
