ESP32-WROOM-32 WiFi + BT + BLE Module

ESP32-WROOM-32 is a powerful, generic WiFi + Bluetooth + Bluetooth Low Energy MCU module that targets a wide variety of applications, ranging from low-power sensor networks to the most demanding tasks, such as voice encoding, music streaming and MP3 decoding.

At the core of this ESP32-WROOM-32 module is the ESP32-D0WDQ6 chip. This chip also as compared the ESP32-D0WD contains the 2 CPU cores, and operates on same adjustable frequency of 80 Mhz to 240 Mhz. Out of this 2 cores, the main processor can be turned off and co-processor can be used for monitoring of peripheral changes, and threshold levels. The actual difference between ESP32-D0WDQ6 and ESP32-D0WD is only that ESP32-D0WD is a smaller package. The ESP32-D0WDQ6 has peripherals like capactive touch sensors, Hall sensors, SD Card Interface, Ethernet, high speed SPI, UART, I2C and I2S.

The integration of Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy and WiFi in a single module, ensures that wide range of applications can be targeted. Also, it ensures that the module is all rounder.

The sleep current of the ESP32 chip is less than 5 µA. So, it makes the module suitable for battery powered and wearable electronics applications. The module supports a data rate of up to 150 Mbps, and 20 dBm output power at the antenna to ensure the widest physical range.

Difference in ESP32 Series:

When compared to ESP32-WROOM-32, ESP32-WROOM-32D or ESP32-WROOM-32U has better RF Performance, and uses a smaller package of the MCU.

Difference Compared to ESP8266 Series:

As compared to ESP8266-12E / 12F modules, the ESP32 based modules have Bluetooth, more pins, higher computing capacity, with same level power consumption. Thereby making them a good choice for Iot, and automation related devices.
